Because it's wrong. [he will just come out and say it.] We're going to execute somebody who didn't even do anything wrong, and it's because enough people chose her instead of figuring something else out. I get that people were scared of picking wrong and picking someone who didn't even volunteer, but that doesn't make it better. Not really.
I can't say that I don't understand it, because-- if we're all at a loss, and someone's made that offer, I know how it would seem like the reasonable choice to make. It would seem as though she was on the list, so perhaps she did do it, and even if she didn't... she volunteered herself.
