lucretia might not have been one of the dedicated scientists of the group, exactly, but it's an interesting subject. the 'theoretical' part is definitely what made her most interested in it, so she's checking it out, because if they're going to be stuck here-- well. she should see what these classes are like, at least.
molly definitely did not give the impression of being a physics kind of person, though, so he gets a faintly surprised look; she'll gesture for him to come over anyway if he wants, though. there's an empty seat by hers.]
[He will absolutely come sit by her, if only because this is entirely going over his head. After about two minutes of lecture, he leans over to start whispering.]
[it's been at least a couple hours since trial, probably closer to three, when lucretia finally returns to the spring dorm. she seems to be leaning on her staff somewhat, this time, and there's cloth wrapped around one of her arms with the sleeve rolled up and out of the way, but she is just heading over to the stairs to the second floor! hello what's up she probably just paid absolutely zero attention to whether anyone was out here.]
[it's a nice, quiet part of the day in the spring dorm. everyone's at classes or wherever else they are, sleeping in, whatever. she comes across molly wherever he happens to be vibing, but she doesn't engage him in conversation or anything just yet? she goes about her business for a bit. makes some coffee, maybe. it's just a real chill kind of whatever-time-of-day.]
[well, it's chill and casual right up until she waits for a moment he's not really watching or anything and tries to just smack him in the back of the head with her staff with absolutely zero warning, in an attempt to knock him out. not like extreme force or anything, we're not going That hard here.
[He does sit, now most of the energy is just ... drained out.]
... It's-- Just some stupid extra credit thing, right? I'm assuming. That's what I've been assuming when people do insane things around here for no reason.
[Well, every Spring Teen is upsetti-spaghetti, how about some of our Olds. (Or, not quite olds. Mystery ages!) He won't bother her for a while after there's some noise upstairs, but eventually he'll make his way up.
At least with all the stuff on the floor there's room on her desk now? Just sitting on top of it, quiet.]
[she's fine, she's chill. lucretia is still sitting at the desk (though there's plenty of room for him to perch there), face in one of her hands, the other propped on the desk's surface. two bodies this time is bad-- one of them being sieghart is worse.
for a few moments, she's quiet, too.]
How many of us are going to be dead by the time we figure out how to fucking stop this? We can't-- it can't be like the last time. We need answers, I'm not going to let him have died just for us to learn nothing.
[she sure is! she's poring over her notebook, at the moment, going back over some things, halfway murmuring something indistinct to herself. it takes her a moment to look up when he comes in, honestly.]
[it's Memshare Time and we're just getting right into it, because it happens fast! she's just looking over to say good morning when they run across each other in the dorm, and then suddenly-- it's something else completely.]
[you died, this last cycle. it isn't your first time, but it's much rarer for you than some of the others-- it's been a long time since the last one, and when you open your eyes you're briefly disoriented, your last memories of something bearing down upon you. white threads begin to dissipate around you, and when you glance around, the same is true of merle and magnus; you remember with sudden clarity that they went first.
in your peripheral vision you see the plane you're leaving behind, and you turn to look at it one last time, the hunger descending upon it as the seven of you flee-- but just for a moment. then it's out of sight, a new world ahead of you, and you breathe out shakily as you grip the railing of the ship.
"did we...?" you ask, trailing off as lup looks away, barry just shaking his head next to her, and your eyes close for a few moments. that place is going to be gone, and you died so early this time too-- if the three of you were there, you wonder if it would have made a difference in finding the light. sometimes nothing does, after all. that doesn't make it any easier, even a few decades in, and you feel a hand on your shoulder for just a few moments, accepting the gesture until it's pulled away.
you gather yourself, still hanging on to the railing as you look ahead to the world where you'll spend your next year, and you sigh before you say, "you're going to have-- eight months or so to catch me up on. let's try to get that done before the light falls."
you'll go get your books to record what they have to tell you in a minute, after you take just a little more time to shake off dying, which you're not sure you're ever going to get good at.
you wonder if the next one will be populated, too.]
[this will be after he's had sufficient time to, like, spend time with caleb and beau etc BUT (shakira voice) whenever, wherever she comes across him-- she just stops short, for a second, because. well. there's a couple things she maybe knows about at this point, so there's... a little hesitance in her voice when she says his name.]
--Mollymauk?
[she definitely sounds hopeful too, though. they all deserve this, all three of them.
oh also her voice pretty much sounds wrecked but the bandages around her throat probably explain that! her right arm's in a sling made out of some kind of fancy fabric and her left hand's bandaged as well. she's fine.]
[here we are again back at springle... she's here to check in on him, looking him over with concern. thankfully this is a period where her memory is functional again.]
...is there much the healing didn't take care of, or are you doing well enough now?
[she is out here, walking, minding her own business when she comes across the lazy river and... well, it's not really strange to see someone float in it, it's what it's for. but the flash of purple draws her attention, and as she leans over to say hello (oh, there he is, her thoughts supply)--
she realizes he is in fact naked in the water and just. closes her eyes for a moment.]
...hello, Mollymauk.
[Not on the list of things I expected to see today or... ever.]
[He sort of starts and sits up from his inner tube, because he was probably sort of half-dozing. Pushing some sunglasses up, so he was at least wearing those? When he notices it's Lucretia, he politely crosses one leg over the other. She really hadn't see it before?]
Hallo. Scoping the competition for the water gun fight?
[she's not going to turn him down, so-- after a minute she'll head out of the dorm to come meet him. lucretia looks... pretty okay, externally, if a little tired, but it definitely feels kind of forced.]
-you can come inside, if you want, or-- we can just stay out here.
[henlo. wherever molly is, when she runs across him today-- well. she still seems upset over all this, seems like she was maybe going back toward spring, but. she pauses.]
[He's just been pacing around the dorms, so yeah she can run across him basically running circles around them just. Furious and pacing. It's probably fine.]
[she's just out and around, likely trying to get a few things done before Shit Happens tomorrow-- as always, though, she stops when she comes across molly. we're gonna say this is after messages etc go out, probably.]

Ah- to the library. I still have a few avenues of inquiry I needed to look into.
[she's just. holding a hand out for her notebook back. why did it need picking up, molly, she needs that.]
