[SEASONALITY] WEEK 5: TOWN HALL ROUND 2
[the mingle post is so dangerously close to captcha and i have GOT to remember to turn notifs off for this post. anyway.
everyone will get this message early thursday morning, after the little investigation lucretia and kon have gone on!]
Please meet in the same classroom as before. I believe we have more to discuss.
[and in that classroom, they will find a series of notes written up on the board! everyone is free to look these over, take their own notes, so on.
lucretia is sitting on top of the desk in this room. one arm's still in a sling, her voice still sounds terrible. she has purple streaks in her hair now though and it's cute i just needed you to know.]
All right. So-- I spoke with Sieghart yesterday, and we only had a couple of minutes to speak, but... this is what I was able to get. Some of the things we need to know, they weren't fully aware of either, and some of the questions... he needed to dodge, I think. We couldn't get very direct answers on some of this. I worked in as many of the questions I was given as I could, I compiled some notes as you can see here, but if you have further questions... I'll do my best to answer. Let's see if this helps with anything.
Additionally-- Kon, go ahead and tell them what happened this morning. That's going to give us... some idea of where to go too, I think, but it's not going to be great.
[
she pushes a pen holder off the desk, where it clatters to the floor and pens spill out, then just stares down at it like why did i do this. fuck.
anyway, discuss.]

WHO AM I?
Earlier this morning, Lucretia and I were in the southeastern part of campus when there was just - a voice, a little garbled and hard to identify as any one person or gender. Writing materialized while it spoke, like an omnipresent TTS function. Apparently that path we were on is the way Lucretia took for her visit to the daycare? [ looks to lucretia for confirmation; gets it, then continues. ] The voice is likely the same that the dead have encountered.
"WHO AM I?" was the first thing it said. When asked if it was the world or the person behind all this, its answer was "NO PERSON. NO ENEMY WAS WRITTEN. ONE HAS TO BE MADE. THE STORY NEEDS AN ENDING."
"A STORY NEEDS A VILLAIN. A CONCLUSION. A CLIMAX. HATE A LITTLE MORE. OR YOU'LL BE WRITTEN TO STAY HERE FOREVER."
Upon being informed that we sort of hated whatever entity it was... Well. "HATE ME..? THEN... IF I NEED TO BE SOMEONE, TO HAVE A BODY, I WILL TAKE THEM."
Then we found this - [ gestures back at the new hint. ] An unfinished story has a will to end itself. Makes me think we were talking to the story itself.
[ he taps his phone against his chin when he finishes, charm folded between it and his hand so that it's not dangling. ]
So, here's what we're not going to do? We're not going to immediately assign villain to anybody in a panic or kneejerk reaction. [ so help him god he'll veto any attempts to assign villain to killers or people you don't like. ] We're also not going to blindly follow suggestions or approve or suggest volunteers for things - talking first, then decisions.
[ so, discuss away.
... kon does use his foot to push the results of lucretia's cat behavior under the desk, though, so no one steps on anything. ]

[nooo assuming it's the voice's fault immediately, whatever happens.]

[ town hall is going to be CIVIL and we are not going to KILL PEOPLE for MORE STUPID REASONS than have already happened. ]

I mean, this is a story, right? Can't we find some kind of way to make up a villain? Or the villain is the story itself?

Guess that's why the papers said "finish the story" huh. So my question is...what then, is this story going to go around and start checking out potential hosts? If it wants us to hate a little more, that kinda sounds like things are about to get even worse.

It's going to be hard to say. We could look at previous patterns, but evaluating what it might want the most out of this could be our best shot at determining it.
Unless it decides to act completely counter to that just to fuck with us, which, frankly-- not out of the question.

Is that just to convey that we have no clear image of who our "villain" is...?
Or could it have something to do with that unexplained photo we all received when we got here?

If the story can't create a villain... what if there's someone here who doesn't need to be compelled to kill? A villain of their own making.
