[she-- really has to think about that one, for several moments. ideally she wouldn't share a word of it with anyone, but... well.
the thing is, she has absolutely zero trust this place won't make the consequences worse than it would be to just deal with this. it just means she has to both be careful who she picks and what exactly she says, and beau is already one of the very few people who know about the barrier.]
[damn, what did she even say. she considers for several more moments, though, debating, before she exhales a sigh.]
I don't know how serious they are about the whispering bit, but-- I think it's better not to test our luck.
[and it's touch week anyway, so closeness is fine. she just leans in, voice lowered, a hand resting on beau's arm for a moment while they're in close enough proximity for that to kick in.]
I regret helping to create the very same dangers within our world that I've been trying to stop.
Yes. We didn't-- at the time, we had no idea of just what was going to happen. We knew it would be dangerous, but the extent of it, the actual capabilities of what we put into the world... what we did was a mistake, no matter our intentions at the time. In trying to save our world, we endangered it more than we ever anticipated.
[she watches lucretia for a second, like she's trying to figure that out, run it through, a few times.]
... Shit like that happens. You can't foresee damage you're gonna do like that. [a beat.] You said you guys are fixing it though, right? Are you close?
It's-- [she pauses, exhales a breathless little almost-laugh.] As one of the others put it, once, it's... real fucking close.
[a small shake of her head, just to sort of clear it.
god, lup's not going to be there to know, when it all finally ends. she's still just not going to be there.]
...I told you I came from what was more or less the end of our world, before. That threat-- it's the thing that we created the relics to try to prevent, but that wasn't the only plan that we ever had. Our world can still be saved, and once it's safe then we can atone for what we did.
[she's going to have more of it to do than the rest, but that's-- it's okay. she will.]

Yeah. Yeah, hopefully. Let's plan on it, then.
no subject
In the meantime- what do you make of that message, from earlier?
no subject
Which -- oh. The regrets one? Fucking stupid.
no subject
[it's absolutely fucking stupid.]
But I assume we won't be let off that easily if we ignore it.
no subject
Did you wanna... like, trade, I guess?

Only if you're comfortable enough with it.

there's a long pause while she absorbs that, and then:]
Yeah? [...] Making up for past wrongs then.
