I'd be surprised if any of us slept well, after that.
[a little tension slips into her tone just at the thought of it, but she breathes out, tries to shake it just for the moment.
after a pause:]
I don't think you could exactly stay the night, so it might not help much with sleep, but-- I have a room to myself in our dorm, if you ever need somewhere quiet to be during the day.
[maybe catch a nap for an hour or two, at least, or just... not be around people.]
If it would help-- I don't mind letting you in for a bit.
[she values her own space, yes, but-- the room feels a little more like her office at the bureau than it does like her private quarters. not quite as personal.
also if beau doesn't get some actual rest and keeps trying to sleep on tables she's going to die of exhaustion instead of murder, will all of you take care of yourselves PLEASE.]
I have. He says he doesn't remember much of the last few days.
[also fucking concerning!]
He also asked if I was sure that display wasn't actually part of sending her to this 'student conduct office', though if it is, that's... a pretty fucked up way to do things.
[rubs face.] I mean, whether it is or not it's sending her to the 'student conduct office' it doesn't matter, she's dead. That's way over the fucking top, yeah. I guess this is an ancient tradition thing? Like someone gets murdered and the whole trial bullshit thing is how they handle it.
Chad mentioned the same-- and that they're unable to affect those traditions. He was open to other suggestions on how to attempt to stop future murders, but given the amount of swords already here, refusing to accept transactions for weapons wouldn't actually end up helping.
At best, it cuts down on the number of weapons but harms any goodwill they have with people who want their belongings, and I don't feel like he in particular needs that, either.

[if the dorms can be locked, presumably anywhere could be-- nevermind that they didn't exactly have a choice about returning there.]

[except lucretia now but that's not so bad.]
Ugh. I slept like shit last night.

... I can probably nap at my own dorm, but - it's nice of you. Especially since you don't know me from shit.
no subject
Well, we're not getting out of here alone. I'm sure of that much.
[there's too much going on for a single person to take on.]
no subject
You're right, we're not. [she sighs out slow.] Have you talked to your dorm head yet, or.

I'm gonna have to see what I can get.

What thing?

[it's something. if it could help one person, that would still be Something.]
...Provided I wasn't unconscious at the time, I suppose, which is its own difficulty. It's still more than I would otherwise have.
