[probably she Could polymorph, she's a wizard, but no.]
The shield-- that was mine. That's what I've been working on since we arrived. It isn't supposed to break like that unless it takes a fatal blow, but... I suppose the rules in which those creatures break barriers took some precedence.
When I talked to him last night-- I asked if he actually wanted to fight in the expulsion. If he would put the effort forth himself or if only his body would be. And I told him... if he thought that he was about to kill someone, and he didn't want them to die by his hands, I told him to signal me somehow and I would try.
I always intended to try to protect whoever he was up against, but I hoped he would help.
...it's hard when they aren't themselves, or they aren't totally in control. I'm just glad he was able to break through enough to know he was going to cause more damage than help.
I can't really-- there are specifics I can't go into. But as far as I've been informed, he isn't the first person to kill and not really be fully aware.
I think there should be more information on that going out soon.
How exactly I know it's true is one of the things I can't tell you-- it wasn't me, I will say that much, this isn't a personal experience kind of answer. But there should be more information because the person who passed it to me wants to put it out there, to try to help sort things out for the next time.
So-- you shouldn't need to circulate this, that should be taken care of fairly soon, but I thought that you should know.

The shield did enough. It did exactly what we needed it to do...so I can't say it didn't work at all.

[years off her life when it cracked, though, god.]
I'm... relieved Caiman was able to uphold his end, too.

...what was his end of the deal anyway?

I wanted him to be able to do that, in the end. It wasn't exactly his fault.

[he wouldn't say it out loud to most people but he thinks lucretia will understand.]
no subject
[yeah, she understands.]
It was still his actions, even if he was influenced in some way.
[and she's-- quiet there, for a few seconds, before:]
Has anyone told you he might not have been the first to have that happen to him?
no subject
Not...exclusively...but people speculated in trial kinda. What do you mean?

I think there should be more information on that going out soon.

How exactly were you informed? How do we know it's true? And how can we be sure there'll be more information going out?

Okay. I mean thanks for not being a murderer, that helps. [taichi.] Does...I mean...how did that person know? Can you give me a hint who it might be?
no subject
[dryly. she is not here to murder anyone, yeah.]
I can't point you to anyone involved, but I was told they didn't truly realize what they had done until after trial was over.
[which is- a large part of the reason she's not naming them, too.]

Okay, well...[...UGGGGGGGGGH.] What are we supposed to do with that information now? Just wait until your contact shares?
no subject
They will. I'm just telling you in advance, more or less.
no subject
Thanks. Obviously I'm glad you told me, it's just...worse than I thought, I guess.
