If you're sure...[but he approaches closer to have a seat.] It would go well for a while, and then we got distracted, and then it would go well and then we got distracted again.
We supposedly had a lot of clues, but we still missed stuff. How is that possible?
There must have been something we overlooked, or looked at the wrong way-- I still think that Caleb was right about focusing too hard on who the geese disliked.
Yeah, maybe. Catra made a good point. I don't know why the baby followed me. It's not like I did anything to it. But the geese liking people wasn't giving us any results either.
Because it's wrong. [he will just come out and say it.] We're going to execute somebody who didn't even do anything wrong, and it's because enough people chose her instead of figuring something else out. I get that people were scared of picking wrong and picking someone who didn't even volunteer, but that doesn't make it better. Not really.
I can't say that I don't understand it, because-- if we're all at a loss, and someone's made that offer, I know how it would seem like the reasonable choice to make. It would seem as though she was on the list, so perhaps she did do it, and even if she didn't... she volunteered herself.
[she shakes her head, afterward.]
